Hi, I'm Ahmad! I study Film at Napier. The most important thing in my life are stories, be it from movies, books, songs. As I started my journey into uncovering what makes the arts so special, I found that the stories told are the most essential part of human life. With my photography, and films, I'm constantly trying to bring new stories to life, and discussing how those stories are shown through the realm of music is an incredible passion of mine.
I’m Andrew, a third year student - with a tonne of unaired opinions. Coming from a small town located in the Far North of Scotland, I’m interested to hear from people across Edinburgh and the wider world. Whilst my strengths might lie in long-form writing, starting a podcast with a couple mates has long been an ambition of mine, and I’d love to get involved in some television news now and again!
I'm a media volunteer for Youth Football Scotland, covering all things grassroots football in Scotland. On top of this I write for the ENRG Sport website and co-host their podcast.
Hello, I’m Anna and I’m a MA Journalism student! I grew up in Ireland (in a seaside town beside Belfast!) and I’ve been studying in Scotland for about four years now. I’m one of the four hosts for the ‘Head First’ podcast, and I’m really excited to begin writing for ENRG lifestyle this semester too.
One third of the Culture Cam podcast, multi talented, extremely handsome, all round good bloke.
Hi, I’m Bea! I’m a film student in 3rd year and I’m very excited to co-host SoundBites! I love to cook and find my inspiration in the work of Anthony Bourdain, both in his cooking, and his documentary storytelling. I love the idea of taking the highly visual art of films and exploring how the tastes and sounds can briefly transport us into their fictional worlds.
I am a first year journalism student at Edinburgh Napier University, I'm really enjoying the course so far as it's really practical! I'd love to do either investigative journalism or fashion journalism!
Writing, analysing, observing, creating, and communicating have always been my strong suits. I have a first class BA in Film and Literature from the University of Warwick, and I completed a year abroad in Berlin where I studied English Philology at Freie Universität (and had the best year of my life so far). Throughout my time at university I have engaged frequently with journalism, writing many articles for campus publications. In my undergrad, I was president of a creative magazine called Cobalt which I am extremely proud of to this day. I also have my own blog. Since joining Napier, I've developed new skills and interests in news writing and radio broadcasting. When I was younger, I did work experience at Siren FM back in Lincolnshire (where I'm from) and this is where my interest in radio began. Now, I'm so excited to be pursuing this further with ENRG! I am a cinephile, an avid traveller, a dog lover, and an extremely curious and eager individual. My day has to start with a morning coffee, I am at my happiest in a big fluffy jumper, and I'm more likely to rewatch my favourite tv shows for the tenth time than ever start a new one. I love meeting new people, having long chats, and exploring new places. I am a multimedia journalist with a keen interest in radio. I write a lot of culture and lifestyle articles from film reviews to mental health content. I am also becoming increasingly interested in news writing, so I'd consider myself to be a multifaceted journalist with a lot of different interests.
Hi, I'm Cal! I'm studying journalism here at Napier, and co-host the First Impressions podcast, where I get to share and develop my love of music. I also write for ENRG culture. I grew up in a household where music foregrounded everything, and as times gone on it's only become more and more important to me. If you see me around campus, I'm always up for a chat, music or otherwise, and I'm open to any requests to appear on the podcast so just drop me a message if you'd like.
I am a third year journalism student. Outside of the course I have great interests in various sports primarily rugby where I have played for my local club from the age of 12. I do dabble in football and have been a long suffering Dundee United fan for as long as I can recall. Away from sports, I regularly attend gigs as much as I can and will without a doubt try an bring the fact I have a Catfish and the Bottlemen tattoo.
Given I am doing an English and film degree obviously I am really interested in books and film/TV, but more specifically I really enjoy learning about the varied processes of how films create the image on screen that we initially craft in our minds when reading. I also listen to a lot of music in my free time and attend way too many concerts for my bank account's own good. I am looking forward to chatting with the girls about anything and everything media and literature related on the podcast, and having a good laugh at the same time !
